Droid X Sold Out!

While Droid X launch went pretty smoothly, soon thereafter we are hearing reports from everywhere that Droid X is sold out across the U.S.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Verizon and Motorola have depleted their supply of Droid X.  It just means their staff is overwhelmed by number of people who want Droid X and their online system has moved the earliest shipping date to a week later.

For those of you who want to get the Droid X now, I would highly suggest to look on Craigslist as many “authorized” Verizon dealers have them.  I know one such dealer personally

Droid X Does Not Self-Destruct, Motorola Says!

Like I suspected earlier today, Droid X does not self-destruct. Rooting the Droid X will be possible and according to official word by Motorola, it’s not locked by some mumbo jumbo eFuse, unlike what Apple fanboys have been spreading around. (Just leave us alone! Just because your iPhone 4 has antenna reception problems, that has nothing to do with Droid X, which has a superior double antenna design.)

“Motorola’s primary focus is the security of our end users and protection of their d

Droid X Mobile Hotspot Feature Works Better than a Real Router!

Today I took my Droid X to my parents home where they have a Linksys router.   Well, I did a test where I placed my Droid X close to my router and set it on its Mobile Hotspot mode.

There’s always a “dead spot” on the other side of my parents house where the Linksys router fails often.

Surprisingly, I was in that same “dead spot” and I picked up the Droid X Mobile Hotspot signals just fine.  In fact, it was over 50% signal while the Linksys Router gets near 5-10% at best.

That’s when I realized that the WiFi on the Droid X is really

droid-x-hdmi-cable

Well, yesterday I spent $24.95 on my Droid X HDMI cable at my local Verizon Store during the launch event.  Right after I got home I saw that they had a micro HDMI to HDMI cable on Amazon for just $11.80.

Droid X uses a standard micro HDMI to HDMI cable, which is also used for the HTC Evo 4G.  There’s no quality difference in buying one that

Droid X Tips for Dummies!

For those of you unfamiliar with Android operating system, you will want to read up on the following Droid X tips to help you use the new Droid X “the right way”.

First thing you should do is download the Task Killer app from the Market.  This app allows you to instantly kill off any apps that’s taking up your memory.  A lot of Android smartphone users don’t use this app for months and complain why their phone gives them a “Force Stop” error when in reality, they’ve left like 100 apps open, all dormant but still taking up memory in your pho

Rooting Droid X – Is it Impossible?

Apple fanboys (and maybe their marketing team) have been spreading false “rumors” about how Droid X is locked down.  This is completely untrue, the Droid X features same so-called “locking” mechanism as previous Motorola phones.

It’s simply a matter of time before development teams around the world root the Droid X, it’s inevitable.

But it’s not going to happen overnight of course, give it 2-3 months and I bet you someone will figure out how to root the Droid X.

The original Motorola Droid was widely popular, has it been rooted
