For those of you unfamiliar with Android operating system, you will want to read up on the following Droid X tips to help you use the new Droid X “the right way”.
First thing you should do is download the Task Killer app from the Market. This app allows you to instantly kill off any apps that’s taking up your memory. A lot of Android smartphone users don’t use this app for months and complain why their phone gives them a “Force Stop” error when in reality, they’ve left like 100 apps open, all dormant but still taking up memory in your phone.
So, download Task Killer off the Market, put it on your home screen, and use it like once a day to clear any apps.
Second thing you should do is to install the Power Management Android widget. You can do this by doing a long-press on the home screen and selecting “Android Widgets”.
This Power Management widget allows you to quickly change the brightness of the phone . This allows you to save a LOT of battery power, especially if you are running on low battery. Plus, you can also turn on/off other things like data sync, GPS, bluetooth, and WiFi at the touch of a button. This will save you battery life over the long run and also help you use your bluetooth headset quickly without leaving it on all the time.
If you do those two things, you will avoid a lot of trouble for days to come.
