Motorola Security Director Issues Cease and Desist Letter for Froyo!

Only days after leaked Froyo Android 2.2 ROM was introduced, Motorola’s security director issued a cease and desist letter to one of the sites hosting the ROM.

Of course, we don’t know if this is official yet, it seems like it might have been a mistake as installing Froyo Android 2.2 is perfectly legal, based on what the Library of Congress has said earlier this year.

I truly hope that this is a mistake by the security director, hope Verizon/Motorola will have a more official statement on this for Monday as I see no harm being done if people are upgrading their Droid X at their will other than the fact that these ROMs could be unstable a bit but people understand those risks before installing, don’t you?

We will update you soon on this, real soon in the meanwhile you better download the Android 2.2 ROM files ASAP just in case.
