According to Verizon’s rep, Droid X users are now consuming 5 times more data than everyone else.
This brings us the question why?
Probably because the Droid X has an 8-megapixel camera and 720P HD recording plus the ability to download more data. And don’t forget its TI ARM 1Ghz processor lets people do things a lot faster than ever before.
Most people are probably taking advantage of Android’s multi-tasking, perhaps listening to internet radio using Last.FM or Pandora app, checking e-mail and Twitter, and more.
So, the big question is, will this keep up?
I also think that many of the “new” Droid X users might have seriously abused Verizon’s data network by using the phone all the time. Which is expected of course, and I think it should die down a bit later.
On the side note, I haven’t noticed any data network congestion on my Verizon Droid X, meaning Verizon is ready to handle more data. Which is a good news compared to AT&T, whose network never recovered from congestion and always has problems with dropped calls/data ever since iPhones were intro-ed on their network.
“Can you hear me now?”
