C. Your awesome. I confirm that no root hack is needed. Just turn on the 3G mobile hotspot and then go to Menu>Settings>Data Manager>Data Delivery and uncheck Data enabled for a few seconds and then re-check it. (Just like C said…)

How can I get my DroidX to stop saying “Verizon Wireless” repeatedly when it’s ringing and every time I make a call AND during my ringtone when someone calls. It’s driving me crazy?

I just got a new DroidX. We also got the Zagg screen protector on line. Although one of the Best known retailers offered to apply the protector for us for $7 dollars we decided to do it ourselves. Very easy process. This is tauted as being bullet proof and quite frankly, I believe it. I’ve used this on my Ipod and have yet to see a scratch on it. I really do think it is the very best screen protector on the market bar none.

@deb, read up on the task killers and what you can do to prevent them from loading. I am fairly new to the android deal, and smart phones in general, but am an IT admin by trade, and use Linux frequently. The best advice I can give anyone is to check out all the forums on the droids and androids. All are very helpful… Remember to read or search first before asking questions.. They generally frown on people asking something thats been covered a dozen times or is a sticky somewhere in the forum.

I think they updated the app a little. I had to select the antivirus app, then hit the menu button, then select the “remote” button, and then select “lock screen message”.

You don’t need to root anything!!!!

Just start the 3G Mobile Hotspot on your device, then go to Menu>Settings>Data Manager>Data Delivery and uncheck Data enabled for a few seconds and then re-check it. Viola!!

You may have to uncheck and recheck once or twice, but it is working like a charm on my Non-Rooted Droid X (2.2.1)
