How to Switch Between Multiple Phones and the Droid X on Verizon!

One of our readers asked me today if it’s possible to get a new Droid 2 or Droid Incredible and switch it back and forth from his Droid X.

Let me tell you that it IS possible even though Verizon doesn’t use SIM cards.

Verizon is based on CDMA, meaning it uses ESN numbers, which you can switch to another phone without signing up for a new 2 year contract online at VerizonWireless.com.

However, if you haven’t gotten your Droid X rebate YET, DON’T SWITCH as you will lose your rebate. Part of the rebate conditions are that your ESN number on the Dro

How to Enable 9 Dot Security Slide Lock on the Droid X!

For those of you who want to put your own personal 9-dot security slide lock on your Droid X, simply head to Settings->Location & Security->Security Lock and set your new pattern.  You can also download an app called WidgetLocket, which costs money but might all be worth it if you are serious about securing your Droid X and don’t want others snooping up on you.

Of course, if you never lose your phone like me (knock on wood!), you are probably better off having no security on your Droid X, it’s rather annoying to unlock your Droid X every 5 minutes.

How to Download Free Droid X Apps!

This is a dirty, little secret that most Android users know and probably won’t last forever but if you want to download free Droid X apps, all you gotta go is google “appiwant.apk” on your Droid X, download it and install it. (replace “appiwant” with the app name!)

Now, the only catch is that sometimes it may not work because of compatibility but sometimes you will be able to get paid apps for free.

But is this ethical? Probably not and Google is already setting up measures to protect the paid app developers, which should be fully deployed by en

How to Get a Droid X with 1 Year Contract!

droid-x-1yr-contract

For those of you who don’t want to be locked in for 2 years since new smartphones are being introduced like every 6 months, it makes no sense to get 2 year contracts if you plan on changing/upgrading your phone often like me.

Luckily, Verizon actually offers a really great 1 year contract at just $269.99, just $70 more than the $199.99 price with 2 year contract.

If you ask me, I would always opt for the 1 year contract since that means I can get a new phone next year without being locked in or paying full price for a new one.

But I believe this deal only
