Droid X 32GB MicroSD Card, just $99.99 Extra!

droid-x-sd-card

For those of you getting a Droid X on launch day tomorrow at Verizon, you will have the option of getting a 32GB micro SD card for just $99.99.  If you ask me, that’s a pretty good deal except there’s still no word what “class” this micro SD card is but I imagine it’d be a Class 2 at that price.

Motorola’s Official Statement on Rooting Droid X – “No”

Motorola’s official statement on rooting and hacking the Droid X?

Seems like a “no” for now but they do want to hear the community’s feedback, perhaps everyone start going to the MOTODEV discussion boards and asking for the root?

I personally think they have more to benefit from letting people do whatever with the Droid X, especially if you’ve just paid a ton of money for it. Of course, you

Droid X Inventory – In Stock At Launch Date?

droid-x-inventory

According to our friends at Droid-Life, Verizon is “upping” their Droid X inventory for the launch.  I can imagine, this would be the biggest launch of a smartphone for Verizon’s history.  And by seeing how popular the original Droid and Droid Incredible was, we can only imagine if there still be enough Droid Xes  to pass around on Thursday.

Of course, this launch could be even bigger than anything we’ve seen before, considering the fact that there might be plenty

Droid X OTA Update!

droid-x-ota-update

Droid X gets a final update with 48 hours left until its launch.  What does it do?  We are not sure but it probably fixes small bugs here and there.

The new Droid X OTA version number is 1.13.604.en.US.

Yes, we would like to see an update to Froyo soon but that probably won’t be coming till August, which is still not too bad of a wait.

Droid X Launching This Thursday!

Droid X, your beloved, latest Droid generation X phone is coming to all Verizon stores this Thursday.

Here’s some advice from a smartphone shopping addict who has experience waiting in line for new launches.

If you want your Droid X phone this Thursday, I highly recommend you to show up about an hour and a half in advance.   You will most likely be on the Top 10 waiters.

Usually, the crazies will show up like the day before, maybe even camp out.   The slightly less crazies will show up about 3-4 hours before the store opens.

And “most” people

Droid X Scavenger Hunt!

Verizon reps just alerted me on the Droid X Scavenger Hunt (actually couple days back but I got lazy), basically you can find a Droid X certificate “somewhere” that entitles you to a free Droid X smartphone.

Sounds like a good thing for people with a lot of time on their hands or you might just get lucky.

The Droid X scavenger Hunt starts today July 7th, 2010, you can read all the official rules at Verizon here.
