For those of you who want to put your own personal 9-dot security slide lock on your Droid X, simply head to Settings->Location & Security->Security Lock and set your new pattern. You can also download an app called WidgetLocket, which costs money but might all be worth it if you are serious about securing your Droid X and don’t want others snooping up on you.
Of course, if you never lose your phone like me (knock on wood!), you are probably better off having no security on your Droid X, it’s rather annoying to unlock your Droid X every 5 minutes.
For those of you still use Microsoft Exchange, our recommendation is to actually forward all your e-mails to GMail and start using GMail to make your life better and awesome but if you must keep using it, Motorola is offering free TouchDown app that will allow you to keep using ActiveSync to keep your data synced on your Droid X.

This is a dirty, little secret that most Android users know and probably won’t last forever but if you want to download free Droid X apps, all you gotta go is google “appiwant.apk” on your Droid X, download it and install it. (replace “appiwant” with the app name!)

Playstation Emulator app is now officially available on Droid X and other Android smartphones.
The app is called psx4droid and can be found in the Market for $5.99.
You will have to supply your own PS ROMs but that should be easy to find by googling or perhaps on file sharing sites.
This opens up a “whole” new world of games for gamers on Droid X. Now you have no more excuses not to get one, do you?
Check out the demo of the Playstation game “Need for Speed” below on Droid X:
For those of you who want to wifi tethering mobile hotspot functionality, you can either use Verizon’s $20/month Mobile Hotspot feature OR you can also root your Droid X then install the 3rd party app Android WiFi Tether.

For those of you who have a hard time following directions, I’ve rooted the Droid X phone myself last night and posted a more detailed, step-by-step instructions at our new blog DroidXHacks.com.
Also, I’ve documented the process, although I’ve failed during the middle of the video, it should help you get a better idea of how to root the Droid X:
When I first got my Android smartphone (which was a Nexus One), it took me 3 months before I realized how to switch between apps. This is actually rather simple but many of you might still not know how to do it.
To switch between apps, you can just hold down the Home button and a screen should pop up with all the running apps.
(Like this, that wasn’t so hard was it?)
